Objective

To support the reformatting and creative development of murder mystery party kits by providing expert editing, content integration, and potentially long-term game content creation.

Profile Overview

The client specializes in immersive mystery party games and seeks a writer who can work within structured templates while contributing creatively. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented editors with a passion for storytelling and gameplay, who can grow into original content creation roles over time.

Scope

• Initial Commitment: 5–10 hours/week
• Duration: 6 months minimum
• Extension Possible: Yes, especially if moving into original game writing

Responsibilities

• Reformat existing full-length mystery games into a new template
• Integrate additional written content during the reformatting process
• Adapt creatively when specific games deviate from standard structure
• Optionally collaborate on new game content in future phases
• Potentially assist with WordPress asset management
• Participate in strategy calls and interviews

Skills and Qualifications

• Important: Ability to understand and preserve game logic, dependencies, and cause-and-effect across multiple interconnected documents (e.g., host guide, character materials, clues)
• Proficient with Microsoft Word 
• Background or strong interest in game design, tabletop games, or RPGs
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adjust for creative deviations
• Comfortable using AI tools for efficiency (e.g., character summaries)
• Strong editorial skills; consistency and clarity in formatting
• Bonus: Familiarity with WordPress
• Bonus: Passion for storytelling, mysteries, escape rooms, or LARPing
