About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking Groundskeeper to join our team and play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained outdoor spaces. If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in a job well done, and love being outdoors in every season, this could be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Do

As a Groundskeeper, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the health, appearance, and safety of our landscapes:

• Keep grounds clean and tidy with regular litter control, leaf removal, pruning, mowing, and trimming
• Perform planting, deadheading, thinning, and other plant-care tasks
• Assist with seasonal fertilizing and pre-emergent treatments
• Work alongside Landscape Technicians on team projects
• Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, watering, and fertilizing
• Plant, prune, and trim trees, shrubs, and flowers
• Remove weeds from flowerbeds and landscaped areas
• Clear debris from walkways, pathways, and grounds
• Carry out snow and ice removal during winter months, including on‑call support
• Safely operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscape equipment

What You Bring

• Experience in groundskeeping or general outdoor labor
• Knowledge of lawn care and landscaping basics
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions

Preferred:

• Verifiable experience in lawn care, gardening, or related fields

If you love working outdoors, this role is for you. You’ll spend your days across the university grounds—rain or shine, hot or cold—helping create inviting, well‑kept outdoor spaces. The work is physical and hands-on, but incredibly rewarding.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IN.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
