### **About The Choice Project**

The Choice Project is a youth-centered program focused on leadership development, decision-making, and creative media arts. The program operates on a fixed timeline and grant-funded budget and requires accurate, transparent financial tracking to ensure compliance, accountability, and smooth daily operations.

### **Role Overview**

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented **Bookkeeper** to manage the financial records of The Choice Project during its 82-day program cycle.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate bookkeeping, tracking program expenses, supporting budget compliance, and preparing financial summaries aligned with grant requirements.

This is a **fixed-fee contract position** with defined deliverables.

### **Key Responsibilities**

**Program & Grant Accounting**

* Track and code all program-related expenses, including supplies, staffing, vendors, and program activities
* Monitor spending against the approved program budget
* Maintain organized financial records for grant compliance and audits
* Reconcile vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies

**Billing & Payments**

* Process payments to vendors and contractors
* Track reimbursements and program-related disbursements
* Maintain accurate records of receipts and supporting documentation

**General Bookkeeping**

* Record daily financial transactions
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
* Maintain a clean and accurate chart of accounts
* Support payroll tracking or stipend documentation (if applicable)

**Reporting & Compliance**

* Prepare periodic financial summaries and expense reports
* Support grant reporting requirements and documentation requests
* Assist with basic tax or compliance-related record preparation, as needed

**Software & Systems**

* Use accounting software such as **QuickBooks Online** or similar
* Maintain spreadsheets and reports using **Microsoft Excel**
* Ensure secure handling of financial data and documentation

### **Qualifications**

* Minimum **3 years of bookkeeping experience**, preferably with nonprofits, grant-funded programs, or education/youth programs
* Strong understanding of **budget tracking and grant compliance**
* Proficiency in **QuickBooks Online** and Microsoft Excel
* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and meet fixed deadlines
* Excellent communication and documentation skills

### **Compensation**

* **Fixed-fee contract** for the full 82-day program period
* 50 hrs × $90 = $4,500
* 6-7 hours weekly
* Payment structure and deliverables will be outlined in the contract
