Overview
Medical Social Worker – Adult Behavioral Health Crisis Services in a clinic setting, Southgate, MI. This travel temporary assignment starts 05/04/2026 and runs for 143 weeks. Weekly pay is $564.00 to $610.00 per week. Shift pattern: 5x8 days. The role includes in-person and telehealth crisis intervention for adults referred by local police, with several on-call responsibilities and after-hours duties.

Responsibilities
- Conduct crisis screening, assessment and intervention for adult community members referred by local police, using telehealth and in-person approaches
- Determine appropriate level of care and the least restrictive setting for services
- Provide transitional support, advocacy and care coordination to initiate or resume ongoing mental health or substance use treatment
- Maintain availability via pre-programmed devices for police-referred calls; respond promptly during scheduled on-call hours
- Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing mental health treatment within the adult behavioral health program, including clients with intensive case management needs

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
- Current Michigan licensure in the applicable discipline
- Must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential and Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist (SATS) credentials within 120 days of hire
- Must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification development plan within six weeks of hire; application and development plan submission within 30 days of hire
- Demonstrated ability to engage adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders; trauma-informed approach
- Proficient with technology; strong organizational, verbal and written communication; capable of working independently
- Ability to work in clinical, office and community settings; must not require visa sponsorship
