Overview
Registered Nurse - Pediatrics ER travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 06/08/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay range $1,594–$1,619 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (rotating). Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with a pediatric emergency department. This is a travel - temporary assignment with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct pediatric ER nursing care, including triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and stabilization of acutely ill or injured children.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, vaccines where indicated, and analgesia per physician orders; monitor responses and adverse effects.
- Assist with procedures and interventions (e.g., IV placements, wound care, minor procedures) and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Document assessments, plans, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the Cerner system; ensure timely charting and compliance with policies.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, social workers, and families to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards in a fast-paced pediatric emergency setting; escalate concerns promptly.

Requirements
- Current California RN license
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric ER or critical care experience; PICU experience preferred
- Cerner experience required; Epic experience preferred
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts in a rotating schedule
- Strong communication skills and the ability to function effectively in high-acuity situations
