Position Overview

Dabri, Inc. is seeking an Project Engineer to support future public sector construction projects throughout California. This role is responsible for ensuring construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of construction practices, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives.

This is an on-site position supporting active construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager/Resident Engineer with daily project coordination
  • Review, log, and track submittals, RFIs, design changes, and change orders
  • Assist in preparing meeting agendas, recording minutes, and distributing action items
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and correspondence
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance with plans/specifications
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and agency representatives
  • Support cost tracking, schedule updates, and progress reporting
  • Prepare technical reports, project status updates, and presentations
  • Assist with project closeout, including collection and review of as-built drawings and manuals
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with agency requirements, codes, and safety standards

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of building codes and construction methods
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections and priorities
  • Proficiency in preparing technical reports and documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in construction or engineering projects (healthcare experience a plus, but not required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and provide clear project documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
  • Familiarity with public works processes, codes, and contract compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with construction/project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Prolog, MS Office, Primavera P6)
  • Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (no visa sponsorship available)
