Job Description

You start the day with a set of detailed mechanical blueprints and a blank floor space. By mid-morning, the layout is chalked in, stock is measured and cut, and the first structural components are tacked square. By the afternoon, your MIG beads tie the assembly together to tight tolerances, and the enclosure begins to look like the drawing you studied at 6 AM. The Work

This is a hands-on fabrication role (not repetitive production) focused on constructing large, custom industrial enclosures from sheet metal and structural components. You’ll own projects from layout through final assembly, working both indoors and outdoors depending on project needs.

• Execute high-quality MIG welds on sheet and structural materials
• Read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble parts to precise, repeatable tolerances
• Operate fabrication and power tools, plus overhead cranes, safely and confidently
• Support the complete build cycle—from initial layout to final assembly and fit-up

TIG experience is a plus for fine or technical work.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience (5+ preferred)
• Strong blueprint reading and dimensional measurement skills
• Proven ability to weld to tolerance in a custom/job-shop environment (not high-volume production)
• Comfort using saws, grinders, drills, and general fabrication equipment
• Willingness to work extended hours as production demand increases

Schedule & Pay

• Contract-to-hire (6 months)
• $22–$28/hr (up to $30/hr for top-tier experience)
• Standard shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Often flexed to 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Mon–Fri) + half-day Saturday during busy periods

With overtime approaching ~65 hours/week, total annual pay typically lands around $90,000–$121,000+, depending on base rate and hours worked.
