POSITION: K-12School Social Worker

LOCATION: Elementary and Secondary Buildings

REPORTS: Building Principal

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree/Certification:

Master’s Degree in Social Work required and eligibility for temporary or full approval through Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

A successful candidate will be able to:

• Participate as a team member of an Individualized Education Program team, to gather information to determine respective roles in the modification of students’ behaviors
• Serve as a member of a Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team
• Provide direct services for students when included in an IEP plan
• Develop and update goals and objectives in writing and in specific and measurable terms for each assigned student
• Work with students, parents, teachers and others in establishing and implementing a special education program in the least restrictive environment as prescribed by the IEP
• Maintain open communication among teachers, administration, support staff and parents
• Maintain accurate records
• Provide critical input/implementation of the Alma Public Schools Crisis Team
• Coordinate and oversee the annual assistance program
• Directly support students to effectively acclimate to the school environment, through personal, social, and emotional adjustments, connected to their social and educational progress
• Coordinate high-quality professional services for students, in order to resolve students’ problems and identify and eliminate barriers to academic success
• Support students through arduous and crisis situations, by enhancing their problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills

COMPENSATION: Alma Public Schools Salary Schedule A

BEGINNING DATE: 2026-27 School Year
