Equipment Operator

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as an Equipment Operator:

  • Operate excavators, skid steers, trenchers, loaders, and related equipment
  • Hands-on training of crew as needed
  • Lead and direct a small field crew and manage daily jobsite activities
  • Read plans, coordinate materials and equipment, and maintain production schedules
  • Perform assignment lay-outs and preparation for installation via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, schematics, one-line diagrams, and blueprint reference.
  • Track crew productivity, timekeeping and materials used
  • Ensure equipment upkeep and strict adherence to safety and OSHA standards
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and inspectors as needed
  • Maintain detailed project records, including daily reports and other documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
  • 1+ years of heavy equipment experience in sitework, utilities, or hardscape. Traffic Signal experience a plus
  • Proven crew leadership and jobsite management skills
  • Ability to read plans and understand grading and underground utilities
  • CDL required or must obtain within 180 days of hire
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and safety mindset
  • The possibility of traveling out of town for up to 10 days
  • Working in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on the job location
  • Working in and around restricted/confined spaces, manholes, utility tunnels and excavations
  • Working in and around vehicle and pedestrian traffic
  • Working on or around slippery or uneven surfaces
  • Working in or around ditches, trenches, and excavations
  • Working in and around exposures typical of a heavy construction site
  • Background check and drug test required
