Job Description

Position Summary
The Civil Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations on civil, highway and road construction projects. This individual will be responsible for supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining schedules, and delivering high-quality results that meet project specifications and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage field crews on highway and road construction projects

Oversee grading, paving, drainage, utilities, structural concrete, and related civil scopes

Coordinate daily work plans and ensure productivity goals are met

Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to maintain schedules and budgets

Enforce company safety policies and ensure full OSHA compliance

Manage subcontractors and vendors on-site

Review plans, specifications, and blueprints to ensure accurate execution

Ensure quality control standards are consistently upheld

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of experience leading a construction team as a Foreman or Superintendent on civil highway and road projects

Proven experience managing crews, subcontractors, and multiple work scopes

Strong knowledge of DOT standards, roadway construction methods, and heavy civil best practices

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Certifications & Credentials

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification

Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Heavy equipment operation background (preferred)

Experience with GPS machine control and grade control systems (preferred)
