The Honolulu Board of Water Supply , Capital Projects Division, is looking to fill an Assistant Construction Inspector position. The position works Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, and involves inspecting waterworks construction and installation projects to ensure materials, workmanship, and completed work meet approved plans, specifications, and Board of Water Supply standards. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :
Equivalent to a high school education. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :
One (1) year of experience in inspecting or supervising construction work.
Examples of Qualifying Experience:
Inspectors, superintendents, trades supervisors, working trades supervisors, etc. with experience of such scope, level and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Substitution:
Any one of the following will substitute for the required experience:
An Associate's degree in architectural or engineering drafting from an accredited college or university; or in the Applied Trades, Architectural, Engineering and CAD Technologies, and Carpentry Technology programs at Honolulu Community College, or similar academic programs from an accredited college or university.
A Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited college or university.
The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, proper documentation, e.g., a foreign credential evaluation (FCE), must be provided. LICENSE REQUIREMENT :
