Are you passionate about the arts and dedicated to fostering a creative, faith-filled environment for children? St. Matthew’s Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and organized Classroom Aide to support our Art Teacher in discovering and developing the unique talents of our students.

As the Classroom Aide, you will work directly under the guidance of the Art Teacher and the Principal to create an inclusive, safe, and inspiring studio environment. You will play a crucial role in helping students explore visual expression through drawing, painting, and modeling while supporting the daily operations of a vibrant art classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instructional Support: Assist the Art Teacher in demonstrating techniques and instructing students on the proper care and use of artistic tools and equipment.
• Exhibition & Display: Help plan and present art exhibitions that showcase student work to the school and the local community.
• Classroom Management: Promote order and self-discipline, ensuring a positive learning atmosphere that accommodates diverse learning styles and needs.
• Safety & Supervision: Adhere to health and safety procedures (fire drills, emergency preparedness) and monitor the appropriate use of technology in the classroom.
• Administrative Assistance: Assist with record-keeping requirements and the preparation of instructional materials to inspire student learning.
• Community Engagement: Support the mission of St. Matthew’s and maintain professional communication with parents and staff to foster a strong school partnership.

Qualifications:

• Commitment: A strong commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
• Skills: Superior communication and interpersonal skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and hardworking "team player."
• Technical Savvy: Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to assist with digital art tools, printers, presentation software, and classroom technology used in the instructional environment.

Position Details

• Status: Full-Time, 10-month position.
• Physical Requirements: Light physical effort; must be able to stand, walk, and occasionally lift or transport items up to 30 lbs.
• Compensation: Salary and benefits are provided in accordance with Diocesan guidelines and Called to Work in Harmony .
